Jeepney drivers, for instance, will have to work doubly hard to earn a decent income for their families with unabated diesel price hikes. Last year alone, a jeepney driver's daily expense for diesel increased by P147.30 as the prevailing pump price of diesel jumped by P4.91 per liter between January and November 2007. (Based on transport group Piston's estimate that a jeepney driver consumes an average of 30 liters of diesel per day) .

- With the unexpected oil price hike, many Filipino's are now facing a crisis that only happened in the PNOY Administration . As a political science student I can say that the Administration of GMA is better than today becuase GMA can control or regulate the increase of prices in gas while President Aquino didn't do something to help the people. In our situation here in the Philippines, the jeepney drivers are very affected with the increase of price in gas it's because they use oil as there source of living they travel around the streets to pick up passengers be able to gain money, if the increase of the gas will still continue it's hard for them to accept it because they need to work more in order to earn more and be able to buy what is needed for their family. I find this crisis very disturbing because many products are also affected like the prices of the meats, the fare we students pay when we ride jeepney and many other things. People cannot afford anymore the prices that the market demand, especially those who are earning below the minimum wage. It's sad that some of the people here in the Philippines are poor that they cannot even manage to eat three times a day and now , with this crisis those people will really have a hard time to earn. It's not fair for them . I think, the reason for this oil price hike is the war that happened in Middle East. President Aquino should do something about this or else the people here in the Philippines will doubt if he is really doing his job well as a president. In the positive side of this increase in gas, the people now are discovering alternative ways of saving up gases, the people also starts to save energy and other things. I think the situation that is happening in our country today is a wake up call for us that we should be able to learn how to save and use wisely our resources.
